Katherine Evans is the principal trumpet of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra (BC) and the Newport Symphony (OR, USA). In Vancouver, she is a member of the Turning Point Ensemble and a founding member of the One, Two, Trio brass trio. She performs with the Vancouver Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and other organizations and is an active recitalist. She recently appeared as soloist to perform the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre (Brazil). She maintains private studios at the VSO School of Music, Vancouver Academy of Music and Vancouver Community College. Katherine sings in professional choral ensembles and has performed with 12-voice ensemble musica intima, Vancouver, Chamber Choir, and others. Katherine holds an M.Mus. in trumpet performance from the Longy School of Music and an A.B. in English and Music from Harvard University.
