Vancouver, BC-based trumpeter Katherine Evans is currently the principal trumpet of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra (BC) and the Newport Symphony (OR). She is a member of Turning Point Ensemble and a brass trio, One, Two, Trio. She performs with the Vancouver Symphony, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and other organizations and is is an active recitalist. Katherine is also a professional choral singer and a member of the 12-voice vocal ensemble, musica intima. She holds an M.Mus. in trumpet performance from the Longy School of Music and an A.B. in English and Music from Harvard University. She teaches trumpet at the VSO School of Music, Vancouver Academy of Music and St. George’s School.
